A unique two day event exploring the origin of the Picturesque Landscape held in the heart of the landscape with lectures, picnics, tours and discussions. Exploring the geological foundations, Mediaeval history, the ‘French Fort’ built by the Protector Somerset, and records of the impressive house and landscape will be revealed along with that of the family, the Halls of Dunglass, major characters of the enlightenment.
Over two days, the speakers will include Prof. Bill Brogden, Lizzie Swarbrick, John Dent, Ken & Sally Wilson, Ian Gow, Ben Tindall, James McCarthy and Alison Tymon.
Tours will include the Dunglass Dean, the 5 Bridges, the Picturesque Landscape, the Shore and the Collegiate Chapel.
