SGLH Trustees would like to confirm the establishment of the Vanessa Stephen Conservation Fund.  Vanessa was a Trustee of Scotland’s Gardens and Landscape Heritage since its establishment in 2015 and became Chair in 2022.  Vanessa cared deeply about cultural heritage and she particularly held a passion for gardens and designed landscapes.  During her year out Vanessa travelled to Italy to visit and record gardens in Florence and Tuscany.  As a practising landscape architect she prepared Conservation Management Plans for historic and designed landscapes, including Mavisbank House, Arniston House, Culzean Castle and Country Park and Invercauld Estate.

The Vanessa Stephen Conservation Fund has been created to fund SGLH’s conservation activities, which include responding to Planning Applications, Forestry and Land Scotland and enquiries from private individuals.
