Meet in the castle tea rooms at 10.45 am for coffee and shortbread, followed by a guided tour of the castle. After a soup and sandwich lunch we will have a unique opportunity to view historic estate plans guided by archivists Crispin Powell and Dr Craig Thomas.
We will then be given a tour of the gardens by one of the head gardeners. There will be time to walk around the gardens at your own pace afterwards.
The gardens at Drumlanrig are a garden of history, heritage and culture, encapsulating the history of gardening in Scotland from their origins in the 17th century to the present day.
Drumlanrig Castle is situated just off the A76 (Dumfries to Kilmarnock), 17 miles north of Dumfries, and is signposted from the M74 (J14 southbound) and A702 at Abington and Elvanfoot.
